We are currently planning a North Shore landowners conference for either April or May 2012. Watch this site for updates or sign up for email updates on the right.

Lost Forest Project Background:

Over the past year, 13 landowners have been taking part in our Lost Forest program.

 

Participants are enjoying:

  • Enjoy a 60-hour customized Woodland Advisor training program.
  • Receive a certified Forest Stewardship Plan for their land.
  • Receive tree planting assistance from a Minnesota Conservation Corps crew.
  • Have access to a mini-grant fund to pay for forestry work
  • Receive access to genetically appropriate nursery stock

The project will started in September 2010 and will run through June 2012.

  • Tree identification
  • Insect diseases and tree growth
  • Financial care of your land - easements, land transfer, taxes
  • Climate change - how will it affect the North Shore

  • Wildlife diversity
  • Timber sales
